Highest possible unit quality?

Post by Fred98 »

Theoretically speaking, is 100 the highest possible quality of any unit?

In the editor, the highest you can put in the Quality box is 10, Joe. Maybe 10 = 100.

I have another question: When you hit TAB, you get the Div/Reg attachment #'s in the unit boxes. When you hit TAB a second time, you get letters (R,F,D,N) red and green. Anyone know what they mean?

The manual mentions attack strength and defense strength of 0=99 if that is what you are asking

RFDN I would think should be regiment, division, and I don't remember F and N. Red and green may be in and out of contact or supply.

I tried to find it in the manual but no luck.

In the tutorial, some units have a quality rating of 60.

I presume the quality rating varies from ne unit to another.

Just to get a feel for it, I was wondering if the highest theoretical quality rating is 100.

I gave a unit highest Quality number (10) in the editor, and it showed Quality of 100 in-game. So that must be the max. But there are other parameters you can adjust, of course.

Putting all these variables together into the unit you have in mind is not easy. I wish some crazy but knowledgeable person would put together an OOB we could use as a guide. Fortunately, there are a lot of scenarios we can use as guides, I guess.

Obsolete is the craziest most knowledgeable person I know around here.

I asked him about the R and D and the F and N in beta and he said it was reg/div and full or not supply. I think red and green is in contact.

The answer is "yes"  in the part of the manual describing units.

As long as the alpha letters are green, everything is ok. If you see red, then you're either with supply problems, or you are NOT in contact (or possibly both).

I don't worry about supply so much, but losing contact can be a real issue in this game. Generally I just use the '8' hotkey to see the green-boxes overlay on my units.  But I guess on a crowded map the tab key method is probably easier to spot problems.
