giving peoples extra research to start

Hola all just have a question. If I wanted to create my own masterfile where certain people start with extra categories researched to start the game, how would I do that. For example if I wanted to say, give any Japanese people's all the battleship techs at the start of every random game, what would I have to do to make that happen. I've been looking at the editor and haven't been able to figure this one out. All you seem to be able to change in the people tab is production, morale and battle values. Thx a bunch :)

You would most likely have to write an event

In it you would check each regime, and what people it had.
If that people was japanese, then you could give tech to that regime.

basically thats it.

You can activate research fields under the REGIME screen. Click on the research tab, and it's a "true/false" field.
Most other research variables are controlled under the PEOPLE screen.
As far as assigning this to a masterfile for random games, afraid I don't know enough to help you there... I only know how to edit for each random game, one game at a time. good luck.
