Armour and AT during the Assault Phase

Post by Fred98 »

The calculations that are done during the Assault Phase are pages 75 – 77.

P76: When an Armoured unit attacks any hex that does not include Armour or AT in CLEAR terrain, armour gets one column shift.

P77: If a defending unit is in ATTACK posture it’s AT strength = 0

If an Armoured unit is attacking in CLEAR terrain, an Armoured unit that happens to be in Attack Posture, does the armour still get one column shift ?

Joe, if I understand you correctly, you are assuming an armoured unit is stacked with a defending infantry in open terrain. The armoured unit is in attack posture.

The attacker, decides to assault the defending hex with tanks and you want to know if we are allowed a column +1 shift on the combat table?

In this case no, the presence of armour in the defending stack will negate your +1 shift, even if in attack posture.

When ever you are due your bonus, it will be stated at the bottom of the odds chart.
