AI not aggressive?

From the legendary team at 2 by 3 Games comes a new grand strategy masterpiece: Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States. Taking gamers back to the American Civil War, this innovative grand strategy game allows players to experience the trials and tribulations of the role of commander-in-chief for either side. Historically accurate, detailed and finely balanced for realistic gameplay, War Between the States is also easy to play and does not take months to finish.

AI not aggressive?

Post by michael1776 »

Have been playing this for quite some time. I have played mainly from the side of the Federals. After a handful of games I have noticed that the AI is not very aggressive when playing as the Confederacy. It mainly limits itself to cavalry scouting and raiding. I do not see any counter attacks, even when I bait them by dangling a very weak guard force in some key areas. This seems to be true at even the higher difficulty lelvels. I don't know how many people are still actively playing this, but does anyone else notice the same thing?

Thanks,
MJ

I've noticed the same thing. The South pretty much plays solidly if unexcitingly on the defensive. You certainly won't see any moves like Gettysburg, Perrysville, or Early's raid on Washington.

That is unfortunate. It's a perfect game otherwise. Looks like I will have to play this one as the Rebs from now on. At least the Federal AI is aggressive.
