The script that the program uses cannot find something on your system or something is blocking it from working.

Do you have Internet Explorer installed?

It looks like it imported the heightmap and the terrainmap ok. Can you explain what you were doing when this occurred? Also, what OS, and what version of IE are you using?

Thanks

Yes, it's fine to use Firefox as your browser, as long as IE is installed.

What version of IE is installed?

Thanks

Are you running this from the directory that you installed PCO to? ie, you haven't copied the game or the map maker to another directory?

Thanks

It is not, as you say, user friendly, in that making a house from legos is different than carving one from wood. To get these detailed results is going to take some time and effort and practice.

The program is an hta application. It needs bits that do not come with Windows but do come with Internet Explorer. You can thank Microsoft.

Map Maker is an HTML application that uses some of the function calls that IE provides. Do you have your default bit depth set to 32? (probably in desktop properties).

I don't have PCO on this computer, (not my computer). Not sure I can remember other things to check.

I know that the Map Maker both reads from and writes to the Registry, so if you have any secutiry settings that keep an html app from riting to the Registry that could be a problem. Also moving the application could cause some problems as it looks for things using entries in the Registry.

You could try uninstalling and re-installing, but I know that isn't something you want to do very often.

Thanks

The map maker _should_ work fine with that, but that is the least secure and most buggy version of IE. Upgrading to a newer version of IE, even if you don't use it (and even just to IE7) may help. Map maker just uses the components of the Windows OS that are part of the IE installation.

Erik do we need to have a Visual Basic installed also? I have run into that before with player made tools. The player has VB installed to make a tool and it tests fine on their machine but VB does not come with Windows.

Updated to IE 8 problem exists. Please help because without being able to make maps I do not really see any more reason to go on with this game.
