Random campaign set-up problem

Post by NZgunner »

I've tried a couple of times to start a long random campaign with the German 1st Infantry Division but I get an error right at the end of the build,
Error (003):
BUILDATTEMPTS = 20
Unable to place core platoon(s) '81mm Mortar' with this template!

Dump:

Dates: (6/1/1944 - 6/5/1944 - 8/1/1944)
Battle: German Summer 1944 (Defend) - 1st Inf Div
Template: Kobrin
Models: Summer

etc...

followed by,
Error (103): Unable to generate random battle 'German Summer 44 (Defend) - 1st Inf Div'

I was able to build a long campaign for the 1st Panzer Dvision with no problems.

Most maps in the game have templates for random battles. These templates have locations for units to be placed on the map. What can happen with infantry battles is that there are too many infantry units for the number of locations on the map. When that happens you get an error.

I generated a 1st Inf Div campaign on the second try so it is possible.

Thanks - 3rd time lucky and it worked ok, good to know you've just got to persevere.
