Singleplayer vs Multiplayer

Post by Iron Knight »

Back when I started playing AT I remember there being more multiplayer games here. Are there just less players in general or do most players stick to AI only games?

[&:] I must be missing out. I'm in two active/daily games currently; I could do 2-4 more. It could be that I'm more of a random map/fictional scenario guy rather than an historical player. Or maybe there is some secret 'inner circle' games going one amonst those in the know [;)][:D].

I was trying to think of ways to convert AI only players to get more MP players, but I have no idea how. Maybe a 4 v 4 allied AI game? [&:]

Welcome Iron Knight.

There still seems to moderate amount of traffic in this forum. Based on the hints and clues scattered throughout this forum I believe there is inner circle complete with their own forum.  For example, some of the AT grognards of yesteryear are relatively silent except when it came time to promote ATG. (It's still great to hear from some of the regulars who may be part of the circle as well.)  My guess is that they have been recruited to product developers, and are busy with that preparing new VRD products or testing out patches before they are released to us.  For those who like multiplayer, it looks like there should be enough traffic to pick up on as many games as you want to play.  But I don't know for sure, as I only surmise from what I can see on the forums.

Good luck and welcome back!

Wait what? An inner circle? I must be missing out! This is just SO conspiracy thinking. I can´t make myself believe it.

I am currently in 2 ATG games. Both are WaW. In one i am doing pretty well, the other is more up in the air atm. Sure i asked these people in private if they wanted to play with me, but that doesn´t make me part of an inner circle, that sits and comments on another forum... Come on now.

there are 5 (i think) of us that are beta testers for Vic and two that helped write the manual and have access to Vics development forum.  However those forums are very inactive at the moment because most everything has been moved to these forums. We still report the rare bug issue there but thats about it.
All 5 of the beta testers except for me, have either posted asking for games here or replied to join a game. I myself am in 1 pbem game with another tester and thats all I can handle at the moment. All 5 of the testers are active on these forums offering advice and answering questions.

I can say that the older members here are very excited to have all you new people join our community and we hope you are enjoying the game and we all want to play games with all of you as soon as we can. There is simply not enough time in the day to play as many games as we want.

just post in the opponents wanted section to start a new game and it should fill up. If you cant get enough players let me know and I will join you. I can surely squeeze one more game in [:D]

But don't tell him about the secret hand shake!!! [:-]

I was pretty sure about the beta test group and forum, but I never suspected either the conspiracy or the secret handshake!

Since you have so piqued my curiosity, I had to take investigate further. After doing some complex espionage and highly sophisticated hacking, I think I might have found the button that may be used to electronically transmit the handshake. (I heard it works in a manner similar to "Poke" in FaceBook.)

I'm really suprised there are not more beta testers! But now that I have the secret handshake, I'll have to see if I can sneak into the inner circle to bribe Vic to put in more levels for things like paratroopers and engineers.

Hmmmm. It looks a conspiracy theory. Is there a BATG? (Bilderberg Advanced Tactics Group)[:D]. I´d like to know their names and intentions. I don´t want a New Wargame Order [:-]. No business, no bullshit, just quality. [;)]
