Currently, you can't move on-map guns using vehicles.

No guns can be transported. Infantry guns can be moved by their crews. ATGs cannot.

I feel your pain. I've also been playing an infantry campaign. In my latest battle I have 7 PaKs that are needed and completely out of the fight. I was able to move two infantry guns enough to use though.

Hopefully, this will be addressed in the upcoming patch.

It won't be fixed for this game. It will be for the next. All you can do now is edit the files so that it doesn't give you ATGs in infantry campaigns.

Is there another forum thread that explains how to edit these files?

If you are not familiar with editing xml files, things can get messed up pretty quickly. There is no step by step.

Better to wait for the update and see what we can do.

ok..thanks for the info. I don't really want to start editing files.

OTOH, I'm playing the 1st infantry division short random campaign. The PaKs seem to be a significant part of my OOB. Without the ability to move them from the initial set-up is a major hurt on my total force.

I played 3 battles of that one too. If you can get them in the open where they have good LOS, they will fire at range. It depends on what map you get.

If you use the RCG from dazoline in the Mods forum, I can make you an xml for a campaign. Let me know what one you would like.

Thanks for the offer but I don't want make the game "work" by having to mod various files. I prefer to fire up the game and go.

BTW, yes I played around w/ the initial set-up to get the best LOS. However, I had very few opportunities to actually obtain a target; and now (35 turns later) the exisiting targets are shown as out of range and/or sighting blocked. The unlimbered PaKs are not a huge problem if you're playing on the defensive...but not so good for the offensive.

Absolutely. I stop the campaign for that reason.
However having the ability to modify the game by editing xml files is a great feature.
It's out off topic but does it mean we could create a strategic layer software (web app or whatever) which would build
scenarios dynamically ?

Yes, I would agree that the ability to edit the files is a great feature. My personal preference however is to "play" a game and not "work" to play a game.

We had to stop putting things in the game at some point so you could play the game. It's not all here yet. We're still working on new content.

If you don't want to work on the game, we're doing that for you. If we're taking longer than you like then you can add to it as well.

We're not saying you 'have to work on the game', just that you can.

Otherwise there is more content coming. [;)]

Understand..I appreciate the continuing work on content. I've been playing since release; and overall the game has definitely filled the CMBB void [8D]

Also keep in mind that in a campaign, later battles may have you on defense and you will be glad that you have those ATGs.

My only issue w/ PaKs is not being able to move them similar to the infantry guns. This would allow some movement in lieu of vehicle towing. That may be on the wish list.

Agree that currently PaKs are much more useful on the defense.
