Closed, its game on!

Post by darbycmcd »

My christ this is getting to be hard!
I am having a hard time finding a long term Japanese player. The big sticking point seems to be the beta version. I like to play with the latest! i think it is stable and has so many improvements and huge bug fixes I cannot imagine anyone not using it. seriously, the patch is like a year old and the official beta more than 6 months, how can anyone start a game using them?

I am open to either scen 1, 2, or 28 or TreeSpiders mod, or anything at this point! I think RA will be up in a couple days even. I am not bothered by strange manuevers (like non-base invasions, xAK pickets, etc) but would prefer to avoid things that are definately game engine exploits. I like the game to be friendly and a bit in the spirit of a cooperative adventure, so there should be no problem discussing and adjusting to whatever situation comes up.

HR, not too much
- no strat bombing cities in China, I just think the supply situation model there is not up to it
- i prefer night bombers to stay at 15k, this mostly hurts allies of course, but i think that night bombing is a bit too powerful, but holding them up seems to give about the right feel
- fighters at... well whatever works for you, i prefer best manuever band as it shows differences in machines, but open to anything or nothing
- i will only give orders to a ships at sea the first turn. you don't use warp drive to hit past the outer edge of the allied holdings on the first day (ie don't warp into palembang, which would have been spotted)

I would like to use 2 day turns so there is some chance of finishing. I have had 3 players now quit in 42 and it is starting to give me Allied WitP blueballs.
ok, any other questions fire away!

Darbymcd,
While I agree the beta patch is like gold,
there're some problems with compatibility of save/dll libraries and Tracker tool.

I think you need to understand that with such a complexity of the game production section, Tracker is almost a must for any serious Japanese player.

I suggest agreeing on an earlier version of beta (up to m3 IMHO) which does not make any problems with Tracker.

Not aware of any tracker issues with m8 beta.

Have you put the latest dll in the tracker directory so that it can read the new save file format? THat has been a requirement since m6? (or so).

Pity,

A real player has to finish like that, he Mosquito.

Again me and a dozen women federations out of this contry would like to play this game.

Alas , males thinks we can't.

Well, any opponent for scen 2(best balanced), is welcome, either side is OK.

Regards,

Linda

darbymcd- You want nothing to do with Linda. Do not accept a game with him. Yes, I said him.

Got to say I used the green 'block' button for the first time ever on this forum and Linda was the subject of the block.

I have tracker working fine with both m5(PBEM) and m8(AI).

I can understand why people would be hesitant without being able to use tracker for sure, although I have been able to get it to work with making sure the DLL files are in the right place. I think the very long time without making the beta beta into a proper beta and then making that a formal patch is starting to be a bit of an issue and causing a bit of 'drift'. I have noticed some people come up with game issues that have been solved in later betas for instance. It is a pity because the game has had some significant improvements over the course of the 'unofficial' beta process, I just wish they would get it formalized.

I tried a game with Helmut before, he is very odd but the worst thing was he didn't pay attention, for instance he let me bomb Palembang for nearly 2 months without even putting any aircraft there for cap. it was worse than playing the AI
