Overcoming artillery

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Overcoming artillery

Post by Saburo »

Ok my Vista laptop just doss not want to accept the artillery screen fixes. So, i have been playing my core forces with no indirect fire support. It's an interesting challenge anyway.

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions about how to construct an effective combined arms force assuming you cannot call on indirect fire!??

I am especially interested in American and Soviet Forces as I feel they naturally rely the most upon indirect artillery support.
Thnx

Have you checked at the Depot and Enhanced forums for fixes?
There are many workarounds you can find at those sites.
If you have exhausted those resources already, sorry I mean well.
I'm still using XP and can't help personally.
No good suggestions on your force either.

I have Windows 7 and faced similar problems. After a few attempts, I was able to fix them using CPU Tweaker (http://www.tweakers.fr/cputweaker.html.

The interface is quite nerdcore, but by adjusting 3 parameters I was able to run SPWaW with right speed:
- RAS to CAS delay
- RAS Precharge
- Command Rate

Of course, I also use the Windows 7 Color Fix launch file, downloaded from this forum.
