Redleg's "Killing Fields of Kursk" Posted!

Post by Fabio Prado »

Hi, Everybody! ;)

It is an immense satisfaction to inform you I have just posted the final version of
"The Killing Fields Of Kursk", another masterpiece by Redleg.
This is a new Tiger scenario - and don't forget that when it is from Redleg, it's NEVER "just another Tiger scenario!" ;) :D

You can also get it by going to the Armorsite's SPWAW page! :)

Go download it - and get an entirely new feeling of what the big cats are all about...

Thank you all for your support!

OK, Redleg,

I took your challenge and played this scenario with C2 ON (I know you said it was designed for C2 OFF but I like the challenge) and I bought no reinforcements.

At the end of the battle I scored a draw- not even a good draw. My tanks were decimated and my remaining units left without men, ammo or weapons.

I think you tweaked the search and hit references because my infantry could not hit a barn door at 10 yards and those stinking Soviet 57mm ATG's with the APCR scored kill after kill with their first shot.

Wicked.

So this time I'll try it with some artillery reinforcements. I know you would prefer me to buy some incisor-like special forces or cavalry or motorcycles, but that would be cheating wouldn't it?

No, this one calls for spot 'em and blast 'em tactics.

By the way, fellow gamers, this is one of the best maps ever.
Use it for your next pbem.;)
They struggled with a ferocity that was to be expected of brave men fighting with forlorn hope against an enemy who had the advantage of position......knowing that courage was the one thing that would save them.

Yes, I did some major experimentation with this scenario. Only time will tell if all of the pieces came together.

I am working on another similar that when played with no reinforcements, yielded a weak draw but with reinforcements, a marginal victory was obtained. BTW, the more difficult version was more fun since I was literally struggling for survival at the end. The AI had Soviet paratroops and some 37mm ATs that just keep pecking away. Pretty soon, all I had was the larger tanks and some infantry. The H/Ts and light tanks were all kaput.

The map has lots of very interesting Line of sight restricting folds and rises that can´t be seen at once! Very good for cat and mouse games!
