New Beta Patch

Hi.
Tried installing the new beta patch and I keep getting an error when trying to start the game.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and ran the game successfully with the base install, likewise the game ran after I installed the first beta patch.
After installing the second beta patch over the first the game deosn't run.

Attached is the log for all three attempts.

Try setting the screen resolution first. This happened to me and it solved the issue.

It dies before getting to the first options window to be able to set the resolution. Also the resoluton was set when I first started the game under the default install. And that held when the first beta patch was installed.

It not a big thing for me as I can always roll back to the earlier patch by re installing but I thought Matrix would like to know alls not fine and dandy in beta land.

Do you get the small game menu? Can you click configuration and look at the settings?

That helped.
I always do a quick start, I didn't even know you could go to the config widow through the game menu. When I did the menu didn't have an entry for the Level of Detail Quality after I set it the game runs.

What would make the beta patch remove a setting from the config? As I had set it the when I ran the initial install. FYI it was/is set to ultra.
