tcp/ip or pbem++

Post by pzgndr »

Today's announcement http://www.matrixgames.com/news/827/Panzer.Corps.Release.And.Pbem.System.Makes.Site.Boom.In.June.And.July indicates Matrix/Slitherine provides a robust server service for pbem multiplayer games. I have no idea how this works but perhaps it offers a solution for pbem game speed and security. Perhaps better than tcp/ip?

Marshall has indicated that tcp/ip is on the list of future game enhancements. But maybe this pbem++ should be considered instead, or in addition to. Something to think about.

I think this would be the way to go with EIA. Hopefully Matrix turns some attention to this soon, it would be a good game to run via tcp/ip.

I would love to see something like PBEM done via TCP/IP, meaning every phase is recorded as is, this would eliminate cheating by "reloading" as far as chit selection (which is by far probably the easiest and best way to cheat).
