We seem to be creeping back to the bad old days of many people slavishly installing betas as soon as they come out without understanding the implications.

When they release updates could Matrix please remind people that -

1. All players in a PBEM game must be on the same version. Hence you should discuss the matter within your game before upgrading.
2. People can install the game twice using different install directories and hence have more than one version if they wish/need.
3. Beta software is relatively untested and should be used with caution. Personally I have no desire for a PBEM game that I've spent years playing to be messed up by using a beta unless there is a really pressing need for one of the bug fixes.
Regards
David

I just tried it, and it worked fine for me. Did you click on the "registered" text, next to Empires in Arms?

Yes. The URL of the page is http://www.matrixgames.com/members/priv ... sp?gid=285. Also, am I confused, or is there a separate registration for "Members" and for those wanting to comment on a forum? I used the info I had from years ago to login as a Member, but in the forum it says I am a guest and won't let me comment. I "reregistered" and have a username and password that works to login for the forum, but doesn't work when logging in as a Member.

There are seperate passwords for each. Could this be the problem, you need a new members password?

No, I am definitely logged in as a member when I try the d/l. I've tried on 2 different computers. I've also tried "Save target as ....." and it tries to connect but says the server connection was reset.

Is anyone else having trouble? Matrix was meant to be replacing the 1.08.06 BETA with the 1.08.07 BETA, maybe they started this and the 1.08.06 is removed??

I'm thinking the problem is on my end. As a test, I tried to d/l WITPAE update from the Members area and it does the same thing.
