Late as Ever

Post by Gerry4321 »

Hello:

Usually years behind but only months in this case. I bought the physical game just now. I am really struggling to get into any computer game I buy but I will give it a go. I also want to support the group involved and hope things will continue. I have enjoyed reading the AARs etc. done over the last year. I hope the group keeps a presence online as I think it is important to show other would-be buyers that things are ongoing.

In terms of the future I would like Matrix to consider expansions like the ASL historical module approach. I think it has worked very well for them. Take an important struggle like Stalingrad's Red October, Kursk, etc. and do a number of campaigns and scenarios. They could include special equipment, units, etc. Just my thoughts.

Gerry
P.S. In the demo, F12 does not get rid of the trees for me??

Better late than never Gerry. And a few months isn't very late at that! I hope you are able to get into PCO.

We are planning to do some expansion mods. And we have a few in mind if things work out.

To toggle the trees, use the '0' key (zero). We fumbled the hotkey reference in the Manual. You can access the hotkeys in the game using the 'k' key. And I think you can find an updated hot key reference in the mods section.

Thanks

Some historical expansions I've seen mentioned include Stalingrad, Berlin, Arnhem, etc...with historical building modules. That should prove interesting.

For Stalingrad, Berlin, Arnhem you need some of the infantry issues fixed.

That's why you haven't seen them listed for expansions. We're very well aware of where the series needs to go and what needs fixed before we get it there.

The comment was made about doing historical expansions, I was simply commenting on some that had been looked for future projects. I wasn't saying we could do them at this moment.

Good Hunting.

Nevertheless I would be ready to play them once we arrive there [:)]. I also have some materials about the siege of Budapest.

The siege of Budapest should be interesting. I have some information about that operation myself.

This game is ideal for the battle in the Ardennes too. Maps don't need to be too big, the atmosphere of the graphics is perfect for it, maps can be created in detail, no need for masses of tanks etc. With PCO Matrix should start a new series, like with Close Combat.

Budapest, Stalingrad and Berlin are certainly being considered (they are the three battles I'm most interested in personally). As mentioned, infantry improvements need to happen for the urban combat to be worth the artwork efforts.
