"shipyard" upgrade for ports??

Post by billd »

The random game I'm playing at the moment is on a really cool map. Normal World (~40% water), with 2 continents connected by a narrow finger of land. Even before I had conquered Eastern continent I was planning a combined airborne/seaborne assault to capture finger of land. BUT, because I didn't start with any coastal cities I can't build ships, for the entire game, with 40% water :( Spoiled the fun a bit.

You need to have your engineers build a shipyard on the coast. After it's been built you can already start building your fleet. If you have tons of materials and pp's you can build a few shipyards and then you'll really get a building programme started. Just remember that you'll need cargo and fighting vessels. You never know what the enemy has in store for you. He also seems to be a master of surprise.

Cheers Mat

I had built a port, I didn't realise I could build shipyards with engineers :)

Yw. That's what the forum is here for. Glad I could have been of assistance.
