Hello:

Are these just 2 different names for the same vehicle? I think maybe as SPW probably stands for Schutzenpanzerwagen.

There are quite a few variants on the Sd Kfz 251. I think Spellir modelled a number of them for PCO.

I think he's just talking about the use of the nomenclature.

Sd.Kfz. 251 - Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251

or

SPW 251 - Schützenpanzerwagen 251

which are exactly the same vehicle. At times the Germans used more than one name for their equipment. Other nations are guilty of that from time to time as well.
