SEARCH ARCS

Post by SPRUANCE74 »

I'm a newbie playing Guadal. scenario.
1. How do I see search arcs?
2. How long does it take to load troops from Noumea to Lunga? It's taking me a long time. The TF is a big one.

"We have met the enemy, and they is us!"

Pogo

Kindest regards,

1) hotkey Z to show all your search-arcs, or the 'show search arcs' button on each sqn's screen.

2) loading depends on several factors:
- port size, amount of Naval Support at the port, & its supply-state. port size of & distance to the targeted unload hex are not a factor.
- TF size & type (amph or tran). excessively large TFs are unwieldy & suffer increased possibility of collision damage.
- other TFs unloading or refueling at the port will decrease its ability to load your big TF.

[port size + nav supp + nav command leader effect = total amnt of available port-ops]

amphTFs can load if undocked, but tranTFs load slowly when undocked. when loading troops, you have the options 'do not load fuel' & 'do not load supplies.' (don't ever load fuel for an amphTF, that ship will burn brightly if takes some hits.) if your TF is set to load troops & supplies, & if Noumea is lightly supplied, the TF might be trying to load more supplies than are available. check the TF screen, if it's still loading troops, it'll say so. but if it's trying to fill out its load w/ supplies & there aren't enough supplies available, it'll delay sailing until it can fill up. if the TF screen shows 'loading supplies', mebbe you'll want to hit the 'cancel load supplies' button, that'll give the TF clearance to sail.

or you might be setting sail w/ insufficient supplies loaded in your TF, after having stripped Noumea of the supplies it needs for its inherent ops.

i think your prob is, you're trying to do to much in Noumea. w/o more info, i can't say exactly what the prob might be. but it's likely that you've overloaded Noumea's port-capacity and/or its available supply-state - you can't fill a 20# bag from a 5#/day hose, unless you give yourself 4 days to accomplish the task and don't make any other demands on that hose during those 4 days.
