Invisible infantry in buildings.

Post by sztartur2 »

I Don't know what happened.

The infantry on my map became invisible in the buildings. Outside they are rendered ok. In the building they look like this. Has anybody experienced this? It's VERY frustrating!!!!!!!

Map is Szajol, scenario is SPzAbt 503: The Bridgehead.

Save attached. This happens to all of my maps. Very disappointing.

I believe I found the reason.

If a structure has the has height attribute it does that. I have edited the scene xml file and those inf int he buildings without has height were showing those infantry in buildings with has height set were invisible. Go figure. 2,5 hours wasted on trouble shooting.

You don't want to give a mountable structure a hasheight attribute. If troops get killed in them while mounted their bodies will then be placed on the roof.

I think sztartur was making them mountable to avoid the problem where long narrow buildings were tipping over. this only affects a few building structures I think. I think it affects models that have a length to width of 4:1 or more.

Thanks for sorting through that sztartur.

The problem is that Imade several hundred buildings in the 6 maps. Taking the height off is a nightmare.

thre is a feature that lets you make mass changes to structures. You can hold down the shift key while pressing the check mark. (I think it's in the Map Maker Guide).

And yes, I know making any kind of a change to a map can get to be time consuming.

Thanks

Well, 5 out of 6 maps I solved the issue by heavy xml editing. Both mapmaker and scene xmls.

One I will have to rebuild.
