Locking generic data

Post by Helpless »

For those who doesn't read patch notes. 1.05.23 brings the ability to lock the generic data inside the scenario file. Also you can update particular generic data later on if required.

Just tried it with a scenario I've been working on for a long time.
It works great. I now have my scenario with its own edited generic data, and all of the regular scenarios still have the new 10523 generic data.
Thanks for all the hard work everyone is putting into this game.

1. Open a standard scenario in Editor
2. Go to the Main tab for that scenario.
3. First, rename the standard scenario. Then save under the new name.
4. After save, while still on the Main tab, towards the bottom on the left it says:
Lock Genaric Data...........click to Yes
5. Save again
Now, any changes you make in that same scenario to Leaders, TOE(OB), Aircraft, Ground Elements, Devices and Units are saved within that scenario. Your Generic Data for the other scenarios is not changed.

Hope this helped

-Launch the game
-Select Editor
-Select Load Scenario
-Select 'X' to go to the Main tab
-Select 'Lock Generic Data' = Yes and leave it there
-You can now make any modifications to any data at any tab in this single scenario.
-Save

If you ever change 'Lock Generic Data' to NO and Save, then you will lose every single change you ever made to the following tabs in the scenario file you are editing:

Locations
Leaders
TOE(OB)
Ground Elem
Aircraft
Device
