Air base assignment

Post by NotOneStepBack »

Hey all, I'm playing the Soviet Union for the first time in a PBEM, and moved all my aircraft into reserve. It's currently turn five and I was wondering what statistics you guys use to assign aircraft (to what base, what kinds of aircraft, when you take them out of reserve, etc.)

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I've always leave some planes to counter german air sup
they take losses but can sometime shotdown some
only important is having TRS in night mission on VVS airbase to supply your partisan
you will need a great "shuffling" each turn
i make it from commander report activating moral
each group low go to reserve and you replace it

I am of the school: "Only withdraw the absolutely shot up groups".. VVS can help in ground combat, yes, but more importantly intercept resupply missions and INTERDICT the german army. It is just 2 movement points here, 2 there but you have enough planes so can take the losses...

I only try to deploy new regiments with at least 15 planes, decent morale and 40-45 experience (more if not under huge pressure). Leave the battalions to be converted to larger units.

Exception is your transport fleet and some long range bombers. I wouldn't wait for the 45 experience tick, just deploy some all along the front at VVS bases and set them to night missions for partisan resupply.

Hope this helps..
