Chinese unit re-spawning question(s)

Just wondering about when exactly Chinese units re-spawn.

I know a unit comes back at 1/3 strength to Chunking a month after being destroyed in battle. I have also heard that starved out units left to whither DO NOT re-spawn at all.

So here are the questions;

1. Do units on their last legs who are destroyed by air or ship bombardment also re-spawn?

2. Do all types of units come back, including ENG and HQ units?

3. If Chunking is captured, do units reappear elsewhere after a month (or longer, or at all)?

4. If Chunking is captured, do any new units appear but in another city?

1. Return if destroyed as a result of enemy action. Do not return if just disappear not as a result of enemy action.

2. Section 16.4.2 of the manual is quite explicit, "infantry units".

3. + 4. Chengtu is alternative base.

Should I also assume for 3 + 4 that there is no other base units will appear if Chengtu is also captured?

My destroyed Chinese HQs and B/Fs and construction regiments also re-spawn, as well as the inf units. All at third strength.
