Upgrades

As new units come along, you can upgrade the old units. When they are the same basic type then it is much cheaper (eg. Panzer IVA upgrade to Panzer IVE you get a substantial discount). But when it is a different type (eg. Panzer IVA to Panther) then you receive no discount and effectively pay the full price for the unit as if you had purchased it. So why not just buy it brand new and you still get to keep your old unit?

Or is there a way to sell your old unit such as if it is just too obsolete to be worth keeping or you have filled up your unit slots?

Does anyone upgrade units out of sequence by effectively paying the full cost or is this just a total waste of money rather then buying that unit directly and keeping the old one?

NEVER disband your experienced units [:-]
The benefit you get from experience is worth heaps, which is why you want to upgrade your existing units over buying new ones.

I've only played through the game once and haven't really got a feel for experienced vs non experienced units, other than that overstrength ones cost a lot of damage. But i will take your word for it and upgrade my obsolete experienced units. It costs so much though when its a different type... [:(]

It would cost just as much if you deleted your old ones and bought new ones.

Unfortunately there don't seem to be any discounted infantry upgrades.
