Good shots, Docup!

Several of us visited her as a group last Labor Day and I was VERY impressed with her overall condition and the sheer number of spaces that are open to tour.  Had a fantastic day!  [:)]

Yes, indeed, Pascal! They have preserved and opened way more of her to the public than I would have imagined. [8D]

I used to go to the beach near Wilmington each summer as a kid, and usually paid a visit to North Carolina. Is the alligator still there?

That sounds great. I wish it were possible for more ships like the Midway and others. I visited the insides of the Missouri 10 years ago (actually on Sept. 10, 2001, along with the Arizona). I've always found boiler/engine room complexes fascinating. Didn't get to see the one of the Fletcher class destroyer up in Boston, but did get to see quite a bit of it.

The engine rooms were impressive. I wish I would of checked the batterys in the camera. My fiancee was really suprised at the size of the ship and its coolness. Yes she thought it was cool. This is one of the 5 in 38s its actually the breach of the gun. I was suprised at how large these were.
