About Panzer Corps

Panzer Corps is a brand new turn-based strategy game that reinvents a classic genre. Produced and developed by a team of experts and brought to perfection by a community of hundreds of fans, the game has evolved over 2 years to become what can be defined as a modern classic!

Set in World War II, Panzer Corps puts the player in charge of Axis armies, taking their core force with them through the entire war. The use of combined-arms tactics requires each general to make use of the strengths and exploit the weaknesses of their opponents.

Its multiplayer mode, an improved version of Slitherine’s award winning PBEM++ system, allows players to easily find opponents anywhere in the world enjoy playing them with none of the hassle.

Panzer Corps is designed to replicate the feeling of a classic wargame, but brings it up to 21st century standards and to a whole new generation of gamers.

The update is comprehensive and will bring all previous version of Panzer Corps to 1.02. Get more information on Panzer Corps from its official on the Slitherine site or on the Matrix Games site.

How come the hotfix is 200+MB (from the Gamers Hell link)? That's a BIG hotfix!

This is the hotfix plus 1.01. Basically it contains most of the game files, even the ones that weren't modified by any update. This way the devs ensure that the update installs correctly with no compatibility problem with any file that might have been edited by the user or by any mod.

Exactly - we didnt want people who had the 1.00 version to have to grab 1.01 first. It's trying to keep it simple for everyeone but it does make the files larger.

I have 1.01 already installed and my hi speed internet provider plan racks up every byte toward the plan limit. Having to download over 200 MB that I have already downloaded for a hotfix is not cost effective for people like me who live in rural areas where the only option is satellite or wireless. I'll just have to pass on the hotfix. I hope that in the future patches and hotfixes will have an option to only download the new files.

I can see this is a problem for some people but this is the only way to do it unfortunately and it is unlikely to change. Any other method is just too confusing and complex so all updates are cumulative. This is true for every game we do. You will need the updates as it has a critical fix. We wouldn't have done it if it was necessary. Having multiple versions of the patch is not possible either as it just causes confusion and people get the wrong one and then can't get it to work. We have to make it as simple as possible and hard to get wrong as possible (i.e. impossible) as nobody ever reads instructions and we get lots of unhappy customers.

Why isnt there an easy link to the contents of the hotfix?  I still don't know what all was included.

If you click check for updates from in game it will update the updater. Then you'll be able to choose to download via the web or via the updater.

The hot fix just fixes a bug that stopped you progressing your campaign.
