WW1 mod

If I was to start a WW1 mod how would I go about the trench systems..as this is the sticking point I think...or are there even more issues which make it not viable.

Use fortified terrain. I'd also add a lot of (slightly modified) broken ground to represent the (barely) passable terrain where bombardments have been heavy - cover, concealment and mobility restrictions.

Yeah I was thinking of fortified and changing it to trenches...good idead about the broken ground...that could be No mans land...hmm...could be something in this.
