You can't say the Russians don't know how to make memorials for the battles that they have fought. Chris.

This monument is just outside the town of Prokhorovka. I found it and several others through Goggle Earth. They have some very good monuments with a lot of vintage WWII Russian towed weapons and tanks. If I ever get a chance to visit that country (fat chance in hell), I will definitely make Prokorovka one of the top places I will visit. It would be very interesting to see where one of the most famous battles of World War II took place. Chris.

Check out the book, Demolishing the Myth if you are interested in the tank battles that supposed took place around Prokhorovka during the Battle of Kursk.

http://www.amazon.com/Demolishing-Myth- ... 604&sr=8-1

This book is written by the man that was A former staff member of the Prokhorovka Battlefield State Museum. He had access to all the records including the NKVD files on the battle.

A must read for anyone that's interested in the battle area.
