Can a Saved Game File Be Modified and Then Played ?

Just hoping someone might know the answer and if it can be done, what steps would I take to go about doing it ?

It is my understanding that a save game file is encrypted and can not be modified. Perhaps Vic, since he programmed the game, may have a way but I doubt he would share that knowledge.

Actually a save file CAN be editted. BUT it requires that the scenario file that it is generated from has an option checked for it to be loadable.

In Jeffrey´s case i don´t think that to be the case.

the whole reason its normally not possible is to avoid offering an obvious way to allow cheating in pbem games.

Editor -> Settings -> Import & other settings -> Loadable

but keep in mind using this option resets the round number to 0. this feature was designed to give scenario designers the options to play their own scenarios and then use a savegame as a start for a new scenario (like for example if they did Russia 41, they could use an actual play through game as the basis for Russia 42)
