Combat question.

Unity of Command lets you replay the epic conflict that was the Stalingrad Campaign of World War II. In this turn-based game of strategy and cunning, observe how opportunity leads the German army to advance recklessly into the steppes of southern Russia. And as the story unfolds, join the Soviet campaign to repel the invaders... As these legendary battles play out on the hex board, the tension of decision making and difficulties of conducting operations on a massive scale emerge. Command armies and fronts in maneuver warfare, thrust and encircle, capture cities and cross continents; but never, ever forget to watch your supply lines. The Red Turn expansion ads a gigantic Soviet expansion centered on the Kursk campaign.

Combat question.

Does the game allow for multi-hex attacks? I've looked at the videos and the AAR's and I'm not sure.
Thanks.

There are no multi hex attacks. You can attack with multiple units sequentially of course. We tried to avoid complicated systems with bonuses and focused instead on achieving similar effects through the following mechanics:

1. Combat odds are non-linear: if you manage to cause losses subsequent attacks on the same unit are increasingly more effective

2. Suppression last for the duration of turn: even if no losses are caused, weak units attacking a strong defender can chip away at their strength through multiple subsequent attacks

I'll also add that units can leapfrog over each other, unlike other games.  Plus you can attack and then move.  So you can attack with, say, infantry, move the infantry elsewhere, and move your armor up and finish the enemy unit off.

Normally once, although there is a chance of an overrun, which lets you move and attack a second time. Before committing to an attack you can see what the odds of it happening are.
