ROF Question

Post by Update »

I am wondering: How is the ROF calculated?
(trying to mod some missing devices)

Is it: 1. Weapons cyclic theoretical ROF divided by ten (as seems to be with some of the MG´s)?
2. Case 1. adjusted by ammo capacity, eg. magazine/ammobelt size (as could be with other MG´s)?
3. Cyclic ROF divided by something else such as barrel cooling method, quick change barrel availability etc.?
4. Cyclic ROF divided by secret method (since I cannot come up with a reason for the number)?
5. Some arbitrary number that has slight resemblance to reality?

The reason I am asking is that, for example, MG34 is the same actual weapon but different ROF depending on the role it is used.

I'm pretty sure it's number 4. Until the one who knows the equation posts here, we are left with using numbers of comparative systems...which are generally close enough for game purposes.
