Game really needs Undo feature

Unity of Command lets you replay the epic conflict that was the Stalingrad Campaign of World War II. In this turn-based game of strategy and cunning, observe how opportunity leads the German army to advance recklessly into the steppes of southern Russia. And as the story unfolds, join the Soviet campaign to repel the invaders... As these legendary battles play out on the hex board, the tension of decision making and difficulties of conducting operations on a massive scale emerge. Command armies and fronts in maneuver warfare, thrust and encircle, capture cities and cross continents; but never, ever forget to watch your supply lines. The Red Turn expansion ads a gigantic Soviet expansion centered on the Kursk campaign.

Game really needs Undo feature

Post by LarryP »

I went to move the map by clicking on it and dragging, but when I did, there was a tank selected and it moved. That's one example of needing an Undo feature. The tank moved to an area that would change the game, so I started the scenario over to my last saved point. I've made several stupid moves that should have been undone, but this last one is an accident that should be able to be undone.

Game is excellent! [&o]

Oh, one more item... a delete saved game feature would be nice. [:)]

Agree on both - the undo button I could've used a few times - because there's no FoW, it's not like there are any hexes you can uncover

Any idea where the saved game file is located? I've looked around the folders and couldn't find anything??

Now that's a mouthful !! My desktop has XP and my laptop Win7. I'll have to look some more on the desktop...

Yes, once you have a number of games saved it can get tedious flipping through them in the game UI.

We should at least provide an option to open the save directory in Windows Explorer. That would help with deleting games, but also with finding the save game directory if you want to send your savegame to someone.
Any idea where the saved game file is located?

It differs between windows versions (it's in your APPDATA directory, for the technically inclined). Typically it's something like:

C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\Unity of Command

Just use Start\Run and type in %APPDATA% and hit return. Should open the Explorer regardless of the Windows language and should show you the folder. With XP it's usually C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data

No undo feature, please. Let us take our lumps. It is one of the neat features of the game.

I would assume you wouldn't have to hit the button if it was available to others who would want it :)
