SE Units, need them to show up in 1st scenario

Post by GaryChildress »

This is what I'm trying to do...

I'm trying to give the player SE units to start out their campaign, preplacing them on the map in the first scenario. However, when I go to the next scenario after the first is complete and try to place the SE units on the map during the deployment phase, I don't get them as bonus units. They take up deployment slots. But, if I am issued an SE unit before the turn begins by the computer then none of the SE units take up deployment slots.

My question: is there a way to set up the first turn so that a player gets SE units to start out with which will not take up deployment slots in the following turn?

Basically what I'm doing is making SE units out of towed AT, AA and level bombers. This way the player has every incentive to keep them in his battle group instead of selling them off for more effective units.

Thanks for any help! [&o]

EDIT: Ooops, never mind. I got it to work. I had just one SE unit in the beginning but when I place more than one on the map it seems to work. Interesting... [:o]

you can not place bonus units.

The reason why they didn't show up for the second scenario is that you probably put them on the map as auxilary units.

The need to be core units to go from map to map.

Bonus units are hard scripted, however we can still give a player SE units on the map.

They were set as core units. But for some reason when I place just one on the map it doesn't give me a free slot the next turn, however, when I place 2 or more on the first map as core units, they do give me free slots in the next turn. Kinda strange... [&:]

Anyway I seem to have it working now.
