Blue Circle Around Colonies

Post by Hyfrydle »

Hi All

I haven't played for a while and got the Email to say a 2nd expansion had been released the features looked interesting so I gave it a go. I must say how much better the game gets with each expansion and I'm really enjoying the game again.

One thing I'm not sure of is the hatched blue circles that sometime circle my colonies can anyone let me know what this means?

Thanks.

If it is about blue colored (filled) circle, there are two options.
If you got spheres of influence on (above the minimap) it shows the influence circle around your colonies. Everything inside is "yours" and others can not mine or colonize there (unless you give mining rights).

If the sphere of influence is not on, there is a smaller colored backdrop that shows the owner of each single system.

I understand spheres of influence this is another circle that seems to appear periodically at colonised systems. It is always blue rgardless of empire colour and apears to be hatched.

A hatched circle of your empire color over a system indicates a colonisable planete for your species within that system.

That is the fleet 'stance' indicator. That shows you where one of your fleets has been set to defend, this can be made bigger and smaller by selecting the fleet and using buttons in the bottom left or turned off with a button in the bottom right.

Not sure about the word hatched. It could be the posture range of a fleet based in the system.

Ah!! thanks for that. I tend to leave my fleets automated so that explains the apparent randomness of it appearing. Does the colour denote the stance?

I think that circle is always blue.

Hatched refers to diagonal slashed lines. And yes, those hatched circles are showing the distance within which your defensive fleets will intercept threats.
