Government type affecting characters

Post by ToastySandwich »

I was thinking that government type of your empire affecting character generation rate might be a good idea. For example, playing as a human military dictatorship it seems kind of silly to have -20% admirals and generals, or a Mortalen diplomacy with -30% ambassadors? The race should still be the leading factor, but a modifier for government type might be nice. What do you think ?

Agree. We had this on our list as well, but it was lower priority and did not make it in. We'll revisit this in a post-release update if possible.

Thanks Erik. ToastySandwich makes a good point here!

Addition: In my current game I had the most unfortunate luck of finding Boskarians to my left, Slukins below me and Mortelans to my right… guess who popped up towards the top of my border… Guardians! Knowing long and costly wars were inevitable for the survival of the human race, I convinced the people to accept a shift in government to military dictatorship. I sure wish a better chance of creating extra generals and admirals came with that shift!

Sounds a very good idea. Hope it makes it into a future patch.
While the battles the British fight may differ in the widest possible ways, they invariably have two common characteristics – they are always fought uphill and always at the junction of two or more map sheets.
