Screen Resolution issue

Post by Greyshaft »

I have a 1600 * 1050 monitor.

I was two turns into Barbarossa as the Russians and decided to change to a Windowed display

I went into Preferences and set the screen to Windowed but wrongly set the resolution to 1600 * 1200 and now I can't change it back. The OK button is off the bottom of the window and there are no scroll bars to go down to it. I can restart the game and change the settings to where I want but because I can't see the OK button I can't commit those changes,

I can't even load my game

Waaaaaaaaaaaah <sucks thumb>

I doublechecked - the monitor is actually 1680 by 1050 but the problem remains.

Screw it! I'm uninstalling and reinstalling the game. It's 7:30pm in Sydney and I'm not wasting the rest of the night sucking my thumb!

Arrrgh! Even after uninstalling and reinstalling the game the Windowed problem remains.

I'm not a happy camper right now.

Please go to the my documents/my games/time of fury folder and open settings.ini file
You are able to change the resolution manually there.

But the issue of not seeing the okay button in window mode still exists.
I tried running a window session of 1024x768 and got this...

Image
If the return key = okay click, I could at least get to the next screen.
But the game should resize to within the frame, not crop.

Currently in windowed mode you shouldn't set the resolution equal or higher than your desktop resolution.

I too have a little problem with the display. I play in 1280 x 1024 full screen mode and the top screen info bar is misplaced, slightly overlapping the mini map. The icons at the bottom of the screen appear to be misaligned the same way. That's not such a problem as to play the game comfortably but it's more of an aesthetic inconvenience, as I'm taking screen shots to illustrate my upcoming review on Cyberstratège... [;)]

Any idea how to correct that nasty little bug ?

Hi Gloo,

None of my hardware supports that resolution directly.
I will try to take a look at it, and see is it possible to quick fix the issue.

Can we check the desktop resolution and prevent full screen at higher than the desktop. Just set it to desktop resolution if the resolution selected is higher.

Pardon my rudeness but as I see that correcting this little visual glitch only required touching the values in a .CSV file, I dared to tweak it a little, in order to adjust the result to my personal tastes [:D]

To do so I modified the "Top pannel background src" x value, as to read 550 instead of 560. That's not a huge change but I think it's even better aligned now (I'll do the same with the bottom screen icons). Anyway, congrats on making this game so easily modifiable. That's a big plus, according to me [;)]
