INSIDEPW & v 3.2 are they compat?

Post by MXB2001 »

I've been running it for a few turns and it looks like perhaps the new database isn't compatible with insidepw? Some of the data looks allright and some seems off.

I also noticed insidepw reported a plane type for Japan: the JXN4 Kikka. It appears as a DB with 0 cannon and modest manoever. I recall a Kikka from Aces over the Pacific and it was the Me262 copy Japan tried to build. Weird.

There is indeed a J9N Kikka in the version 3.2 database. But it should have a manuever of 28, the best of any dive-bomber in the game. Incidentally, there is also a Ki-201 Karyu fighter, which is another knockoff of the Me-262. One or the other can be gotten rid of if another aircraft slot is needed.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Dive Bomber? It's a Jet Fighter... Or is it some sort of kludge to represent it's likely use if it had seen action?

The game is tilted so Allies have forever to win unless IJ takes the whole map in the first couple of years.  The increase in control and produciton points depreciates the value of kill points, and the kill multiplier is delayed until 1946.

So... we can conclude that even with greater than historical losses, the British decide beating Germany isn't enough and keep the Conservatives and Churchill.  The British don't run out of money.  Roosevelt does't die.  Americans who half a decade later decided a couple years of Korea was enough have no problem with a six year war against Japan.  Things like that.

So its assumed that Japan's jet aircraft will be used as a kamikaze, and its made a dive bomber.

Ah thanks for the explanation. If I ever did play that far I'd just edit it into a alien tech spaceship (99 everything 1 cost) and have some fun. ;-)
