Is there a conceptual flaw with pausable mode ?

Distant Worlds is a vast, pausable real-time, 4X space strategy game which models a "living galaxy" with incredible options for replayability and customizability. Experience the full depth and detail of large turn-based strategy games, but with the simplicity and ease of real-time, and on the scale of a massively-multiplayer online game. Now greatly enhanced with the new Universe release, which includes all four previous releases as well as the new Universe expansion!

Is there a conceptual flaw with pausable mode ?

Post by nukkxx5058 »

I was asking me the question whether it is OK that the time stops when a screen is opened. I am asking because the interest of the game is to read and spend time in the numerous screens. So I do spend a lot of time reading/analysing them. But the problem is that time doesn't pass. So I am in fact nearly constantly in pause and if I want the time to pass I have to stand still watching the galaxy which is IMO not the most interesting part of the game. Should you not allow time to go on (but of course pausable) even while screens are opened ?

You can click the unpause button while a screen is open

But the default is paused when a screen is open

hihihihihi well, I can explain why I'm so dumb. In fact I was playing with low resolution 800*600 or so and when I opened a screen, the GO/PAUSE button was not visible (masked by the screen) so I couldn't click on it. And on the top of that, the space bar doesn't work to restart the time when a screen is opened (no it doesn't !). So that's why I'm happy to try the Chips Ahoj !Thanks !

Oh, geez. That's way below the minimum resolution. I play at 1360x968, and that's low-end.
