Very strange British Colony convoy behavior

Post by jjdenver »

I had a look at convoy report for British colonies on turn 5 of the early start GC scenario in my PBEM game.

It shows one convoy with 20 PP from BC (British Colonies) to Liverpool. That same convoy seems to appear 5 times in a row tracing through these SZ's (sea zones):
BC
Dahlak Sea (this shows adjacent to BC in SW corner of map so makes sense)
Red Sea
SE Med
Bay of Sollum
Central Med
Coast Tunis
Coast Algeria
Alboran Sea
Gulf Cadiz
Coast Portugal
Cape Finisterre
W. Euro Basin
S. Celtic Sea
N. Celtic Sea
Irish Sea
Liverpool

So my questions:
1) Why is the same convoy trace shown 5 times?
2) Dahlak Islands are adjacent to only Cape Guardafui on the map - why does the convoy go from Dahlak to Red Sea? There appears to be a chain of SZ's set up from BC that leads into the Atlantic but that chain of SZ's isn't even used by the convoy at all.
3) Why no convoy from Canada?
4) Why no convoy from Carribean or S. America?
5) Why is the only convoy the BC runs through the med? This seems to be silly since the Brits actually ran only a small part of their shipping through the Med during WW2.

It appears that with this convoy arrangement there will be no BOA (Battle of the Atlantic) only a battle of the Med and the Spanish and French coasts. :(

Thanks
