Where is the Railway???

Post by Luskan »

I'm not sure (am far too young to remember) but I am positive that there was a well established railway line running up and down the east coast of Australia by the time of WWI. I know that the line to Brisbane has been there for a long time - perhaps a hundred years.

So, when I'm marching units up and down the Aussie coast, shouldn't they be rolling along railway tracks at 30 times the speed, with no fatigue and infinite cargo supply capacity?

After all this is Australia we're talking about here - not the third world!

note to Matrix Games: This is the first criticism I have of this brilliant game, and it isn't a very big one (only occured to me after playing the game for a week).

From the one screenshot on WITP, it looks like they might be including railways on that one. Looking closely at Malaya, it looks like there are a couple different dark colors of roads going toward Singapore, and it's not a track, because there is one of those on Sumatra.

Luskan, Yo'r right, there should be a railway line all the way, from Brisbane to Cairns. And a Road from Cairns to Cooktown, not a trail. Also there sould be a railway line linking Townsville and Charters Towers.

So the pig began to whistle and to pound on a drum.
"We'll give you a gun, and we'll give you a hat!"
And the pig began to whistle when they told the piggies that.
