90% of the time, problems with the game are due to insufficient free memory. Unfortunately, since the game is DOS-based, it's the first 640K of memory that is all that counts. You can have tons of RAM, but if there are drivers or other TSR's (Terminate and Stay Resident programs) you won't be able to make the game work. First, you need to find out exactly what your system setup is. Are you running Windows 98, 2000, XP or something else? Then, find out your free DOS memory by going to the command prompt (in other words, open a DOS window) and type: "MEM /C |MORE". There should be several lines of information, including "Largest executable DOS program". If that is below 600,000 bytes, you should look at ways to free up memory.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?
