+10 infantry

Post by Truckeye »

ive seen this referenced before. im guessing its referring to the infantry that say +10 elite or morale on top of the purchase screen. is that +10 to what? their leadership scores? do you automatically get the troops that say that at the top? how do you access them if not? thanks

Troops like Waffen SS (SS Rifle Platoons and Companies and the like) For Germany, as well as Sikh Rifles and Ghurka Rifles are elite infantry.

This represents they're above average training levels and experience, usually by giving them +10 experience and +10 Morale.

If you can get your hands on these guys, and have the points, they're the ones you want to get.

I believe that Special Ops squads and Pioneers are also rated thus. When you click on a unit to view it before you buy it, doesn't the experience and morale bones show up in the little info pop-up? Wish I could have SPWAW up at work, never can remember what I was going to look up by the time I get home. Too many other distractions.

Yes, Pioneers are Elite Engineers I believe.

And Spec-Ops are Elite as well.

Yes, it does come up at the top of the screen where you'd buy a formation.

when you see that at the top of the screen, does that mean if you purchase the unit shown, you automatically get the +10 guys or is there something you have to do? is the cost higher?

It's automatic, and yes, usually Elite +10 units are more costly.

One exception is Indian Ghurka's and Sikh's, who I can buy in company format for about 140 points. Ghurkas are one of the few specialist Melee units with their Kukri's and other short ranged weapons, Ghurka Rifle units in the Indian OoB

Sikh Rifle infantry are light elite infantry, incredibly good and slipping from one place to another and laying down a hail of fire.

There may be other exceptions, these two however are simply my favorite (Besides Aussie Jungle Patrol Spec-ops) Infantry units.
