Is war with USA on Dec. 7th inevitable?

Post by pditty8811 »

I like to play as Japan, and my strategy is to finish on other fronts before attacking USA.

Can i postpone the war with the USA until I am ready?

I am playing the Grand Campaign from 1941-1946, I think it is.

I like to clean up China first.

Also, if I attack the Dutch East Indies will the USA declare war on me?

In game terms war has already been declared at game start. This cannot be changed.

Depending on how badly you want to simulate this - you could probably do something in AE. In AE you could write a whole 'nother AI to limit what the US does until x or y conditions happen. The US would still be "at way" as far as the game is concerned, but would perform limited actions until the scripts kick in.

Alternatively you can play PBEM with an opponent who will agree to act as per a pre-determined set of conditions. Again, technically the US is still "at war" but presumably the opponent would agree to act as if they were nuetral until the conditions were met to declare war.
