Supplies?

Post by freeboy »

I do not [play as the Emperer.
My fearless foe has amassed a whopping force in PI near wars end, I know as the attacking force troops numbers in the 500k range use a huge amount of supplies... while on the offensive.

My question is does the japanees player using the big giant blob face a situation where once our forces take losses, will they rapidly use stored supplies to rebuild damaged equipment and suplly grunts on the ground? I hope to outnumber him 1.5 or 2-1.. and Minilla is the first "mountain" If I cut it off from resupply by land and sea, what is a realistic amountof time in the game for his UBER stack of 5000k men in hex to last before they starve? I know there is a large supply base there? Should I expect him to last a month? more?
I have lots of pbem experience but never quite faced this larg a blob! lol
thanks

Start bombing his port and or airfields if you can.

All hits do 1% damage to supply, so the more ther is supply stored, the more each hit destroys (not in %, but in supply points)...  I think...

Where did you learn to spell? [:D]

Joking, BTW...

Are you contemplating attacking a known heavily fortified Hawaiian Islands? Depending on the date, if it's mid '42 or later, and your opponent is smart, you might want to think twice. Attacking the strongest part of the line is not the smartest move...

1% damage per hit is long not true anymore. There was a formula posted sometime, so going with the normal 250kg or 500lb bomb hitting you can estimate supply destroyed somewhere between 50 and 300 supplies. So if there are 50.000 supplies, a 50 hit would not be 1%. If there are 1000 supplies a 300 hit would not be 1% either.

You can use some of my quota...i only plan to make one more idiotic comment in th R.A 4.0, thread and then remain silent for the rest of the month ( real life interference)
One of the serious problems in planning the fight against American doctrine.... is that the Americans do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligation to follow their doctrine

Looks like Colorado.

But i'd agree, find other islands to set up air bases, maybe also on northern or southern Luzon is you want, maybe get adventurous and take Bataan.

5000k troops at Manila will not be available to defend Formosa, Okinawa or the Home Islands.
