snipers

Post by col kapa »

I am trying to make the sniper more effective for both sides

In order to reflect concealment can I increase the defence quality?

With snipers can I change the soldier section under body armour- would this give them more protection?

Again sorry for the basic question, just starting to get a grip on things.

Thanks in advance

In the stock game, snipers are most effective when you just take a few shots and then hide. If you try to engage in a fire fight with them the tend to become suppressed or pinned and unable to fire accurately.

The best way to increase their overall effectiveness would be to increase the sniper teams' experience and morale in the teams files. Experience will help with spotting, remaining hidden, and accuracy of firing. Morale will help them to stay steady and aim while under fire.

You can add body armor in the solder file to improve survivability, but if you add more than a few mm of armor they may become invulnerable to most small arms fire and shell fragments when in good cover.

I feel that snipers experiance and morale is allready fair and I am happy that a sniper does get surpressed under heavy fire and thus loses the ability to fire accuratly

In changing the "Body Armour" column to "6" the sniper is slightly harder to kill and therefore needs more thought in eliminating

I personally found this far better

Any thoughts on this and I feel we can get a good solution to a sniper team being very vunerable and not a useful member of the forcepool that I am sure they were in actual combat
