Air groups manual/automatic upgrade and APs

Dear all,

Just a short question here: I know that manually changing/upgrading air groups will cost you 1 AP each. What about the automatic upgrade? Will APs be used here automatically then?

No, automatic swap outs and upgrades do not consume AP.

Hi Helpless, thanks for the answer. So would it be a good idea to leave automatic swap and updgrade allowed for the first turns on Soviet side in order to save APs? Or is it better to turn automatic upgrade/change off at the beginning?

Soviet player is very short on AP initially and I'd leave everything on auto. Granted that most of your planes will fly old airframes, but you still have quite a lot of them. Meanwhile it will let more new groups with new air types to be formed. Later manual would allow you to fine tune your air force.
