Intro Sounds

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Is the static noise when the game menu comes up intended? Or am I missing intro music?

That's what it does on mine. I think it is just supposed to be radio static. I think you can hear a bit from the British Anthem(Hail Britannia... ), but I'm not sure.

If you have a previous version of the game you would realise it was left over from when we had a "Command Set" startup screen modeled on a radio.

Of course where so old and grey now that we are death and thus failed to hear the sounds and remove them even though they dont make much sense anymore.

Or you could go for the more romantic explanation, "Its the ghost in the machine"....

I remember it from the HTTR radio set. Let's call it a retro touch...

These rumours about my passing are greatly exagerated. I just went to Sydney for the weekend, Paul.[;)]
