Atom bomb

Post by mcissell »

I see the small write up on p. 168 of the manual for Atom bomb attacks, and it says I need the 393rd NBS unit. Where to I find that? It says that it is in the database editor. Is that the one with a picture of a couple of sailors next to float plane? I have never be able to bring that up.

You will find the unit in the air unit reinforcement queue. It is not on map at the start of the Grand Campaign.

The 509th CG 393 BS arrives Sept 14, 1944.

If you have the art mods, you'll see one that has an "Arrow Head" insignia.[;)]

I looked for the 393rd but I didn't find it (both coming up units, and those are on the board now). I do have one atom bomb ready to go. Shurd I expect that the unit will show up at some point in the future?

It arrives at Wendover Field.

Use the filter at the top of your game screen for land based air.
It speeds up find finding units of all types.

The other bombs show up at different dates.
Don't remember exactly when.

I'm in August 1945. But now I have another problem. I made a atomic attack on a trarget and nothing happened. There were ships in the harbor, there were planes on the airfield, and soldiers on the ground. The strike was against light industry and again nothing. All screens said it happened and the bomb was taken from the inventory.

A few weeks ago I hypotheses that there was a flaw in the game, in that we had foreknowledge of the Atomic bombs, and that we could just maintain a defensive war and wait for the bombs to arrive. It was shot down when I found out that more than two bombs would take away winning points. Now this is another reason against it. Maybe the designers did this for playability, which is probably a good thing.
