Hey, thanks for the info. Used it some other stuff and some guess work to mod the KI-68.
Maybe some of you more in the know can tell me if I made any great errors. I used the "LIZ" art work from RA 4.0. Thank you to those guys.

Fodder, here is how I have the G5N/Ki-68 set up in my game currently. Now the bomb load...I'm currently testing a theory, so you may want to go with 16 x 250kg instead. While I have found several sources for the actual load 4000kg/8800lb max, finding the actual number and type that make that up is not something I've pinned down firmly.

Anyway, it gives you something else to compare to.

Also, the range should be in nautical miles, since the game map hexes are 40 nautical miles each, IIRC.

Hi Shark, Thanks for the look at your planes stats. Looks like I really missed with max load. The other huge differance is armor. Yours has armor. ( 2 at that) Try as I wanted, I could not find a reason to give the plane armor in 41. In fact everything pointed against it, no japanese plane in the game has armor at the time. I was planning an upgrade for late 42 or early 43 that would include armor, but even then I was only going to give it a rate of 1.

I have been following the Sally thread where you are discussing bomb loads. I would like to use the 16 x 250k here or the 8 x 100k for the Sally. Although there seems to be some concern that the game can't handle the larger number of bombs. Hopfully your tests will show no problems.

I too have seen the 2000-4000kg bombload listed for LIZ on a number of sites. I've read several discriptions stating the plane had a very large bomb bay. Some even say extra fuel tanks were to be place in there so the plane could reach its 3500 mi range goal. Something I'm keeping in mind for the upgrade as I don't want the range to drop.

Nautical miles? Really? I guess I'll have to do some converting.

Thanks

Edited because I misread, miswrote, generally screwed up.

I may be off on armor, but it was a heavy bomber, so I made it similar to Allied heavy bombers.

Generally:

Armor rating 1 = self sealing or semi-self sealing fuel tanks
Armor rating 2 = crew cabin 'armoring' or protection.

In this case, its the all metal construction that lead me to give it an armor rating. I'm not an expert on this, so I'm taking a SWAG when it comes to the armoring and durabilities on the aircraft.

As far as Japanese aircraft at the time, they did have a rudimentry semi self sealing fuel tank which simply covered the fuel tanks in layers of laminated rubber. That would be enough to justify an armor level of 1.

You may want to make its load similar to the B-17 or B-24 in game, that is 8 or 10 x 250kg bombs (equivalent to 8 or 10 x 500 lbs bombs).

The ranges I have listed there are in nautical miles, and should be fairly accurate.

in stock:

armor rating 2 makes them flying tanks (like an IL-2 or something)
armor 1 usually means self-sealing tanks
crew armor + glass is represented as higher durab. points

for this scenario:

G5N1 needs to have a service rating of 5 (4x mamoru engines..yikes)

G5N2 service rating 3 (kasei 12, but a lot slower because it's only 1530 hp)

technically the G5N can be included in the stock scenario, since they could be built
if the japanese wanted to build them
