Why does movement cost differ from unit to unit/turn to turn?

Why does movement cost differ from unit to unit/turn to turn?

Post by moose1999 »

I've noticed that my panzer divs have different movement costs.
Some turns they pay 2 points per clear hex they move, some turns 3 (not talking about terrain differences, of course).
Is there some initiative roll or something made every turn that decides this?
It can't be a leader roll as divs from the same corps will have different movement costs...

So what determines this - and can I influence it?

Could be they are moving into enemy controlled hexes in some cases. Hit "E" to check hex control.

Hi Briny,

To add to Elmo3, when u move into enemy controlled hexes part of the movement costs is determained by ur units moral.

From 14.1.5

Enter enemy hex
Motorized +((115-unit morale)/15)) (round down)
Non motorized +((115-unit morale)/15)) (round down, subtract one from cost for cavalry units)

Could that be what ur seeing?

Hope it helps,

Rasmus

Yes, Walloc has it spot on. Thanks!
It does seem to happen less frequently with high-morale units, so that must be it.
I just have to keep my units' morale high then.
Any other ways than winning battles?
