Scenario recommendations?

I finally managed a victory in all the tutorials. Are there any scenarios or sequence of them recommended to start next? There hasn't been any indirect fire yet, so I don't want to blunder into one of the most advanced scenarios without learning more of the ropes.

If you are saying you want to learn about indirect fire, play the General Petrov scenario. It's pretty easy if you play the Soviet side, plus you get to plan the shelling. As the Axis, of course you'll be on the receiving end.

I found it to be a straightforward, not too complicated scenario that teaches artillery usage (both off-map and mortar), cover, and careful movement.

Play the AtB original scenarios in the order they are listed. The extras for the PC edition are all pretty much full blown scenarios that you should tackle after you played most of the normal ones.

Will the game automatically show the recommended side to play in each scenario? So far, every scenario I've played has set the Axis side as the human player.

In most you are the Axis by default. You will see a few that say Soviet preferred for human player. Just look under the mug shot for this note.
